Busy, Busy, Busy

Things have been busy, kids have school, I have work (added 3 more clients) and life in general just keeps coming. The kids have their Harvest Feast at school and have decided they want me to make Pizza Soup it isn't very Harvest-y but it works for me. Maren looks happy about it

The kids and I have to go out and find a Red Girls sz 8 coat for GR's adopt a family at work and once that is complete we are done with Christmas. Which is lovely because we can focus on the fun stuff like baking cookies and seeing the pretty lights on the houses. Preston is getting dressed to head out

Nothing else really, its cold, its snowed a bit yesterday so we spent a good portion of the day outside playing. The kids can hardly sit still waiting for Nana to arrive on Wednesday, then we can buckle down and whip up our Thanksgiving Feast. Here's a rundown in case you want to stop by.
Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Whiskey Glazed Carrots

Fresh Corn with Wild Rice

Pumpkin Cake

Pecan Topped Sweet Potatoes

Green Bean Casserole

Stuffing

Cranberry Relish

Chocolate Cheesecake

Creamy Herbed Potatoes

I think those are all up to date, I was switching things around up until I left for the store on Wednesday. Stayed tuned for pictures from the kids Harvest Feast this week.

Bath Time

Both kids are swimming in a warm bath, Maren playing while Preston proceeds to tell her "You have a red butt Maren!". He giggles and she turns to look at her bum and yells "Stop it Preston!"

Gotta love Siblings!

Really?

Is it even a tiny bit odd that my kids would prefer to eat uncooked noodles (of any type) over my cooking? We ordered pizza tonight since the kids are prepping for their first (of many) viewings of Kung Fu Panda. I pulled out some uncooked noodles to practice addition/subtraction with Preston and after the lesson a brother/sister fight broke out over who would get to eat them.

In the name of all pizza lovers who argues over uncooked noodles when they have piping hot pizza right in front of them? It blew me away but then I decided to feed them uncooked noodles and eat their pizza - kidding, of course!

As you saw earlier Maren has a shiner from being a complete klutz. I have yet to take her into public (other than P's school dropoff) because it occurred to me at P's school drop off that not everyone knows she is a klutz! I made a joke with the teachers when it hit me that people might think I hit my kid, at that point I realized in this day and age you cannot joke about such topics!

In my defense she has a clear line of the 2x4 that makes up the bonus room stairs and I have Preston as a witness.

Just like Grandma

Maren wanted to have a black eye just like Grandma. She fell running out of the bonus room (onto the step up) and no amount of Arnica could stop the shiner! I hate to admit my dear daughter isn't very graceful, I don't really see a career as a professional ballet dancer for her!

The View although a bit different

This is the view from my kitchen window just a few short days after the last picture.

SNOW!!! Can you believe it, the kids can't wait to get outside and have spent most the morning just staring out into the cold wetness. The dogs won't come in and just keep running circles in it. Which makes me think I had better get them in or they will "run down" all the snow and the kids will have mush!

In order to enjoy our first snow fall I think we will do Fondue Friday and make a bunch of different dippables that the kids can dip veggies, fruits, grains and sweets in!

Nana & Mappy have a safe and enjoyable trip to someplace that doesn't have any snow. Say hi to the rest of the family from us!

The View

This is the view from my kitchen window, it's just a warm glow of gold!

This is the birch tree providing the lovely fall colors, it has always been my favorite but now it makes me smile every time I walk into the kitchen.

Best Halloween Weekend!

We had such a fun weekend with so many things going on fun to do and my Grandma here to share it all. The Halloween party was a HUGE success, the kids had a blast and the weather was perfect! This is the first year ever we didn't have to bundle the kids up to ToT, they wore just the costume - it was perfect!

Preston the Officer

The kids had fun at the party and then went with their friends ToT. Both P & M had fun and did not get scared and then enjoyed every bit of candy!

Party Pics

We did food and the crafts (make your own pumpkin and ghouly gloves) in the basement and also had a small scary room (spooky lights, skeleton and music). Outside we hung thick black plastic from the underside of the deck to create a room. We did pin the tail on the cat and had tables for them to eat at, that room we kept good and fogged! We also had Pumpkin Bowling, Pass the Bone and Find the bones.

The time was perfect, plenty of food and all the parents enjoyed drinks and appetizers. Can't wait to start planning for the 2nd annual next year. In fact we hit Target up the day after for all the necessary items so all we have to worry about next year is food!

My Grandma left today, the kids had a blast with her. She read and colored with them, took them on walks and just played with them all the time.
